Four drivers from the Porsche Carrera Cup GB will step up to the Porsche Michelin Supercup race at the British Grand Prix meeting at Silverstone (10/11 June). And they will be reunited on the grid with 2004 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Champion, and current Supercup Championship leader, Briton Richard Westbrook, at the premier event.

Richard Williams (London) and Mike Richards (Cheshire) will race for the IN2RACING team, while Danny Watts (Buckingham) and Jason Young (Leicestershire) will be driving for Red Line Racing in the British round of the international series.

All four drivers will be making their Supercup debut in the Type 997 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars they currently race in the Carrera Cup GB, and are eagerly anticipating lining up in front of a crowd of over 100,000 British fans on Sunday morning. The opportunity to join the Supercup grid for this race has been organised by Porsche Cars GB.

Its a toe in the water exercise to see what were up against next year, says Williams, who is planning to step up to the Porsche Supercup in 2007. And its a great opportunity for us to showcase the Carrera Cup GB. It will be his first experience of racing on the Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone and there will hopefully be double cause for celebration as his birthday falls on the Sunday!

Richards has raced on the GP circuit before, but will be making his debut at the British Grand Prix meeting. Im looking forward to the challenge, he says.

Meanwhile, Alec Dudfield, team boss of IN2RACING - based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire - sees the weekend as a chance for the team to perform in front of a massive audience. Were delighted to get an entry and its a great opportunity, he says. But it will be a big challenge for all of us.

Young and Watts will line up for Cleveland-based Red Line Racing, with Watts returning to the car that he took to a brace of Carrera Cup wins at Oulton Park in May.

Theres not really any pressure on me, says Young. But Ill try and pick off one or two of the Supercup regulars all the same. Im looking forward to it!

Richard Westbrook (Ipswich) continues to lead the Porsche Michelin Supercup after finishing third on the famous Monte Carlo street circuit in the last race on 27 May. He has finished on the podium in each of the five rounds so far this season and currently heads the championship by

Westbrook drives for Racing Team Morelatto and will relish the prospect of competing on home ground at Silverstone in front of the British Grand Prix crowd on Sunday 11 June.

After the Supercup race at Silverstone, competitors in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB have a five week break before the Carrera Cup GB resumes at Croft over the weekend of 15/16 July.
